SAWA
is a series of crafts workshops with women from communities in Marsa Alam,
Luxor and Aswan. Each workshop focused on developing contemporary designs
inspired by traditional motives and designs of a specific craft that each
region is characterized with. Participants were women who already practice the
craft and need to develop additional skills or women who do not have any skills
or income source.
مشروع سوا هو عبارة عن سلسلة من الورش الحرفية مع
نساء من مجتمعات في مرسى علم
والأقصر وأسوان. تركز كل ورشة عمل حول تطوير تصميمات
معاصرة مستوحاه من الأشكال التقليدية لحرفة معينة تتميز بها تلك المناطق.المشراكين
سيدات من تلك المناطق مهم من يمارس هذه الحرف ولكن يحتاج إلى مهارات إضافية، ومنهم
من لا يمارس الحرفة وليس لديه مصدر دخل.
The
first workshop took place in Aswan Heita Mountain in Fekra cultural center with
20 women from Nubian and mountain communities. Women learned copper sheets work
and wire jewelry in addition to a specialized wicker works workshop. The
results are beautiful wire jewelry with colorful stones and colored wicker
plates and bags.
أول ورشة تمت إقامتها في مركز فكرة الثقافي
بجبل عيطة بأسوان، مع 20 سيدة من مجتمع الجبل. تعلمت السيدات أعمال ألواح النحاس
والحُلي بأسلاك النحاس بالإضافة إلى أعمال الجريد والخوص. النتائج كانت مجموعة من
الحُلي بالأسلاك والخرز الملون وشنط من الخوص الملون.
The
second workshop took place in Luxor Nubian cultural center with 22 women from
Nubian communities. Women learned rearranging colored stones with copper to
create home products and jewelry in addition to specialized leather works
workshop.
الورشة الثانية تمت في المركز الحضاري النوبي
بالأقصر مع 22 سيدة من المجتمعات النوبية بالأقصر. تعلمت السيدات أعمال الخرز
بالأسلاك النحاسية بالإضافة إلى ورشة متخصصة في الأعمال الجلدية. النتائج كانت من
الحُلي الملون والإكسسوارات المنزلية، ومنتجات من الجلود الطبيعية الملونة.
The
third workshop took place with 20 women from the desert in Marsa Allam in
cooperation with Tourism and Environment Association and hosted in Marsa Allam
Youth Center. Women learned Leather crafts and stones jewelry with threads.
الورشة الثالثة تمت في مرسى علم بمركز شباب
مرسى علم بالتعاون مع جمعية السياحة والبيئة مع 20 سيدة من مجتمعات صحراء مرسى
علم. تعلمت السيدات أعمال الجلد والخرز والخيط. سوف تقام في سيناء في آخر شهر مارس
وأول شهر إبريل 2015.
Results
of the first two workshops were exhibited in SAWA first crafts festival during
the period from 20 to 21 April in Alexandria. Results of the three workshops
will be exhibited in SAWA second crafts festival during the period from 4 to 5
June in the Greek Campus in Cairo. SAWA crafts festivals invited other artisans
who present a contemporary view of traditional crafts from different cities in
Egypt to exhibit their work to the audiences. This project is highlighting the
impact of the crafts industry on economic development and cultural tourism.

نتائج الورشة الأولى والثانية تم عرضهم في
مهرجان سوا الأول للحرف اليدوية خلال الفترة من 20 إلى 21 إبريل 2015 في
الإسكندرية، ونتائج جميع الورش سوف يتم عرضهم في
مهرجان سوا الثانية للحرف اليدوية خلال الفترة من 4 إلى 5 يونية في الجريك كامبوس
جاليري بالقاهرة. سوف يشارك بالمهرجان حرفيين آخرين من مختلف محافظات مصر يقدمون
رؤية معاصرة للحرف التقليدية. المشروع
يلقي الضوء على أثر قطاع الحرف اليدوية على التنمية الإقتصادية والسياحة الثقافية.
